Graduate Students and Post-Docs interested in professional development and mental health education are invited to participate in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) – Higher Education, a free, in-person training designed for the college community. This 8-hour course teaches participants how to recognize and respond to signs of mental health challenges and substance use concerns, offer initial support, and connect others to appropriate campus, local, and national resources. Participants will receive a Mental Health First Aid certification valid for three years, building practical leadership, communication, and crisis-response skills that support both professional development and personal well-being. This training is designed for graduate students at all levels and in all disciplines who want to build skills in mental health awareness, communication, and support. No clinical background or prior training is needed. Facilitated by Rutgers Student Health staff. Date of the session will be determined by the group of students who register their interest.
