Wellness Through Clay offers Rutgers students, faculty, and staff a chance to unwind, de-stress, and build meaningful connections through hands-on pottery workshops. Participants join small-group sessions that blend clay creation and glazing to promote relaxation, creativity, and social connection. Facilitators guide and support participants working in pairs or groups, fostering a welcoming, judgment-free environment.

Each cycle includes two sessions, one week apart. The first one is for handbuilding your item, and the second one is for glazing.

Session 2:

  • Part 1 (handbuilding): 11/14
  • Part 2 (glazing): 11/21 glazing

There will be a post-workshop survey to assess participant experiences and wellness outcomes. Promoting intellectual, emotional, physical, social, and environmental wellness, this project addresses the need for accessible stress-relief activities on campus and strengthens belonging within the Rutgers community.
