DESCRIPTION:This Zen Meditation and Mindfulness Workshop is a unique opportunity for participants to delve into Zen practices rooted in Buddhism\, with a strong emphasis on inclusivity for all\, regardless of religious background. The sessions will not only focus on the benefits of meditation and mindfulness for mental health and well-being\, but also provide a non-religious space for reflection and relaxation. This is particularly beneficial for graduate students at Rutgers\, as it equips them with tools to manage stress\, foster self-awareness\, and build interpersonal connections through a shared mindful experience. Written and directed by RU’s own Alex Dawson\, who teaches creative writing with a focus on folklore\, weird fiction\, and the dark fantastic\, hosts Inside the Writers House\, a video chat with acclaimed authors from all over world\, and leads fable-fueled Study Abroad programs to some of the planet’s most mythical places. \nThe Rutgers University English Department\, the American Studies Department\, and Scarlet Arts RX present: THE DEVIL AND DAISY DIRT: A Garden State Gothic\, Alt-Folk Event \nFeaturing Alex Dawson\, Dan Diana\, Arlan Feiles\, and Jackie Fogel.
