SUMMARY:Beginner Bird Walk and Scavenger Hunt
DESCRIPTION:Learn about our local backyard birds right on campus! Our journey will begin at the Rutgers Eco-Preserve Bird Feeder Station\, which is managed by the Rutgers Wildlife Society and Rutgers University Birdwatching Association. We’ll equip you with binoculars and briefly go over some free resources for learning more about wild birds. From there we’ll go on a scavenger hunt on the Rutgers Eco Preserve Red Trail\, where along the path we’ve hidden cut-outs of some of NJ’s backyard birds. As we locate each bird\, our educators will provide some fun facts about them. At the end we’ll have a raffle for a bird-related prize! \nEvent Re-Cap/What you’ll Learn: \n1. DESCRIPTION:The Where Our Path Leads event will be an Interdisciplinary Concert\, Gallery Show\, and Community Event featuring performing and visual art centered around environmentalism and ecofeminism by artists from Rutgers University\, Mason Gross School of the Arts\, New York City\, Philadelphia\, West Virginia\, and more. Over 45 artists will join together with Education\, Artist\, Curator\, Operations\, Finance\, and Social Media Teams to showcase work centered around environmental dystopia and utopia\, highlight intersectional environmentalism\, educate on current environmental topics\, and build community at Rutgers and beyond. \nJOIN US on April 19 from 11 am to 3 pm at the Voorhees Chapel at Rutgers University. Free and open to all! Drop in to watch certain performers (a schedule will be coming out soon)\, visit the art exhibit\, or stay for the whole time – it’s up to you!
