SUMMARY:World Mental Health Day: Black and Well
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the Paul Robeson Cultural Center (PRCC)\, the Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) will host an inaugural World Mental Health Day event. \nThe theme of the event is centered on the importance of being well as a member of the African diaspora. The goal of the event is to expose students to careers in the psychological field while exploring ways to create mental wellness in their lives. \nThere will be small group discussions led by Black psychologists. Towards the end of the event\, there will be a panel discussion with esteemed psychologist Dr. Kirkland Vaughans\, and guest speakers who share wisdom on how to build mental wellness\, mental fortitude\, and career prospects in psychology. All students\, faculty\, and staff of diverse backgrounds are welcome to attend.  Register using this link: \nwww.tinyurl.com/blackandwell \nThis event serves the dual function of fundraising for BGSA wellness programs throughout the year.
