SUMMARY:Backpacking: BATONA Trail (2-day trip)
DESCRIPTION:The BATONA (BAck-TO-NAture) Trail is a 53-mile hiking route that weaves through dense pine forest\, swampy wetlands\, and long-forgotten small towns in the beautiful New Jersey Pine Barrens. On this introductory 2-night backpacking trip\, our experienced guides will lead you through a section of the Batona Trail while teaching you some basic backcountry skills and philosophies. Food and gear (tents\, sleeping bags\, etc.) as well as transportation from campus are included in your registration. Moderate fitness level required. The course features interactive group processes\, experiential learning\, emotional intelligence training\, breath-work\, yoga\, and evidence-based meditation. SUMMARY:Wellness Wednesdays: Graduate Student Mat Pilates
DESCRIPTION:Join us every Wednesday in Spring 2026 semester\, running 1/28 – 4/29 to take a pause from your busy week by relaxing your mind and body with your fellow graduate students. Mat Pilates builds strength\, flexibility\, and stability using controlled\, low-impact movements that emphasize core support and proper alignment. It helps improve posture\, balance\, and body awareness while reducing stress on the joints\, making it accessible for a wide range of fitness levels. Mats and blocks are provided\, and all skill levels are welcome!  No registration needed. \nEmail gradstudentlife@echo.rutgers.edu with any questions. Graduate Student Pilates is hosted by Rutgers Recreation and Office of Graduate Student Life.
