SUMMARY:Rutgers University Out of the Darkness Campus Walk
DESCRIPTION:Suicide touches us all\, regardless of ability\, age\, gender identity\, race\, socio-economic status\, sexual orientation\, and much more. As we strive to open the lines of communication and decrease the fear and stigma of asking for help related to mental health concerns\, we will be joining with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to bring awareness to Rutgers Campus. \nWe will join thousands of people across the country this spring in support of the foundation’s mission to raise awareness\, save lives\, and bring hope to those affected by suicide. As we walk on Sunday\, we aim to remind students\, faculty\, and staff that we are a beloved community with unique experiences and stories. We’ll keep sharing these stories\, hoping they will pull someone out of the darkness and point them towards the light. This event is open to all students/faculty/staff\, family\, and four-legged friends. \nCampus Walk Information:\nDate: Sunday\, April 27th \nLocation: Buccleuch Park New Brunswick\, NJ. \nRegistration starts at 9:00 am. Stretch with Rutgers Recreation 9:30am-10:00am. Walk begins around 10:00 am. \nRegister as an Individual\, join a group\, or create a Rutgers team by visiting go.rutgers.edu/hopewalks \n(*Rutgers University is walking to raise money for AFSP. We are not required to raise a specific amount of funds for the walk\, but all donations are tax-deductible and greatly appreciated.*)
